General Performance:
We compared the Evesham Quest A620 to a some of the previous notebooks we've looked at, namely the
Xtreme SL and
Xtreme CT notebooks that are both kitted out with GeForce Go 7800 GTX's. We also compared it to the
Alienware Aurora 7500, which is kitted out with an FX-60, two GeForce 7800 GTX 512's and 2GB of memory as well as our bit-tech reference system which sports an Athlon 64 X2 3800+, 2GB of RAM and a 7800 GT.
The Evesham Quest A620 is faster than the two rock notebooks in SuperPi, but isn't quite a match to the Alienware Aurora 7500.
Again, the Alienware Aurora 7500 is the fastest in this test too. The Evesham Quest A620 delivers higher memory bandwidth than the Turion 64-based rock Xtreme SL and Pentium M based rock Xtreme CT notebooks.
The Pentium M-based rock Xtreme CT proved to be the fastest of the notebooks, but the Evesham Quest A620 was quite a bit faster than the Turion-based rock Xtreme SL. The higher efficiency of the Pentium M plays its role here.
