Acer has announced the first netbook to use Nvidia's Ion 2 platform, and uses Optimus to switch between integrated Intel graphics and a GeForce G310M chip.

Acer has gone public with a pair of laptops which - almost - adhere to its 2005 promise to use biodegradable plastics and remove brominated flame retardants from its product lines.
