The Internet Explorer team over at Microsoft are hard at work on a pair of technologies designed to offer 'private browsing' without leaving incriminating evidence behind.

Internet Explorer 8, with its strict standards compliance, is due to ship to end users by the end of the year according to Microsoft. A second beta is also scheduled for next month.

In a move that some might construe as being an attempt to gain back some precious market share, Microsoft is releasing an IE7 build to all Windows XP and Server 2003 users.

The final version of IE7 is just a day old, and already security issues are being reported - ones that are as old as the hills.

Microsoft finally gets the new version of its browser out of the door, in the run-up to the release of Vista.

Internet Explorer7 is almost done, and it will be pushed out to your XP system before the year is out.
